Obituary of David Jockisch
David Charles Jockisch, 67, of Nebo and formerly of Beardstown, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at his home.
He was born July 20, 1950 in Beardstown, the son of Lewis Charles "Mike" and Verna "Jeanice" Moeller Jockisch. He married Katy Lou Phillips on December 10, 1982 at Black Oak Church and she survives.
He is also survived by two nephews, Michael Jockisch of Jacksonville and Ronald Jockisch of North Carolina; and special friends, Sandy, Kevin and Scott Janes, all of Nebo. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jackie Jockisch (surviving wife, Lucille of Meredosia).
Mr. Jockisch was a 1968 graduate of Beardstown High School. David farmed in Cass County and drove a school bus for special needs students for several years. He served on the county committee at the ASCS Office in Virginia and Hagener Township Board. Following retirement, David served as a trustee and later as treasurer for the Village of Nebo. He enjoyed fishing, playing computer games and was known around town for his handyman skills. Most of all he loved his family and hosting family gatherings.
A graveside memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, August 4, 2017 at Black Oak Cemetery, south of Beardstown. There will be no visitation.
