Jack L. Parrish, Jr, 70, of Rushville, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at his home.
He was born October 29, 1947 in Springfield, the son of Harrison and Velma Spoon Parrish. He married Beth Lynn Lyons on December 31, 1966 in Griggsville and she preceded him in death on November 1, 1986. He is survived by his companion of thirty years, Sandy Fox.
He is also survived by two sons, Wesley Parrish of Beardstown and Jody (Jodi) Parrish of Meredosia; three grandchildren, Cody and Cooper Parrish and Jordan Lynn Parrish; one brother, David (Marilee) Parrish of Springfield; one sister, Dolores (Willie) Haynes of Bowling Green, KY; stepchildren, Brad (Michelle) Fox of Beardstown, Misty (Paul) Morris of Rushville and Joe Hamlin of Beardstown; step grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madison, Adam, Sydnee, Gracy and Ryder; and one step great-granddaughter, Elaina. He was preceded in death by two daughters, in infancy; five brothers, Ronnie Parrish (surviving wife, Zelma of Florida), Richard Parrish (surviving wife, Ruth of Quincy), Stevie Parrish, Gary Parrish and Larry Parrish; and two sisters, Carolyn Rutherford and Patty Bruce.
Mr. Parrish was employed by Oscar Mayer/Cargill for over 43 years, retiring in 2009 and was a member of the Griggsville Church of the Nazarene. Jack loved to golf and enjoyed deer hunting.
A funeral service will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Sager Funeral Home with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. Family will meet friends from 10 AM until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
